Outline of Annual Research Achievements

整合的な量子重力理論の一つとして、万物をプランク長程度の弦で記述する超弦理論が知られている。本研究の目的は、超弦理論に基づく新規な重力理論「Double Field Theory (DFT)」を用いて、プランクスケールでの時空構造を、理論の対称性であるT双対性を通じて調査することである。本研究では、以下の結果が得られた。
(1) 超弦理論の一つであるヘテロティック理論において、T双対軌道にあるfive-braneの一種であるgauge five-brane解を具体的に構成し、そのgeometryが幾何的であることを示した。結果はJournal of High Energy Physics (JHEP)誌に掲載された。
(2) DFTにおける古典解として、type II理論のT双対軌道にあるfive-brane解群を求めた。この解は、NS5, KK5, 5(22)など、超弦理論でよく知られたbraneのほかに、弦の巻きつきにより派生される新たなbraneも含む。我々は弦の巻きつき効果を系統的に分類し、これが世界面インスタントン効果であることを示した。結果はJHEPに掲載された。
(3) 様々なbrane解への世界面インスタントン効果を計算するため、弦の世界面理論であるゲージ化線形シグマ模型を構築した。結果はJHEPに掲載された。
(4) DFTに現れる空間構造は2D次元のdoubled geometryと呼ばれる。物理的時空間はdoubled geometry内のD次元部分空間として埋め込まれる。本研究ではdoubled geometryに現れる亜代数(algebroid)構造がDrinfel'd doubleという数学的構造を持つことを示し、物理的時空間がどのような条件下で現れるかを議論した。結果はJournal of Mathematical Physics誌に掲載された。
