Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Rheological experiments using 1986 Izu-Oshima lava unveiled that magma shows pronounced time-dependence such as aging, and hysteresis at unsteady state. In particular, the time and shear rate at pre-rest process affect subsequent behaviors in the rheology. We confirmed that crystal clustering was formed after sufficient pre-rest not only without shear but also with weak-shear. The fact indicates the close relationship between the rheology and the internal structure.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
