Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The progression has been made to design the mini-high pressure reactor equipped with a magnetic drive stirrer. The first set of the custom-made reactor will be delivered by the end of April 2019. Besides, the catalyst preparation process has been modified to improve the reproduction. With the new process, 12 catalysts can be prepared in parallel with high consistency. Throughout the entire research period, the instruments for parallel syntheses of morphological control supports and catalysts have been launched. A library of Ziegler-Natta catalysts having different features has been established. These catalysts are ready for the performance test in olefin polymerization in FY2019.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
The progress is slightly delayed due to the maternity and childcare leave of the principle investigator.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In FY2019, the capability of the custom-made polymerization reactor will be evaluated under a wide range of polymerization conditions. Thereafter, the reactor unit will be expanded to 4-6 units, in which the additional design consideration for the parallel motor drive and heating system is required. The performance of the catalysts in olefin polymerization will be evaluated to establish the structure-performance relationship.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Unused budget for article cost was originally planned for setting up the parallel high pressure reactor. However, due to the maternity and childcare leave of the principle investigator, the progress was behind the plan. The budget will be carried over to FY2019 to be used for the same purpose.
