Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The target in the final was set at evaluating the catalyst performance in olefin polymerization and constructing the structure-performance relationship. In this final year, a catalyst library containing 17 catalyst samples having different physical and chemical features has been generated and the performances were evaluated in homopolymerization of propylene and copolymerization of propylene and ethylene for making impact propylene copolymer. Combined with the results throughout the project, it was found that the correspondence between important structural features of the catalysts and their performances was hardly acquired on the basis of one-to-one relation. However, the performance can be reasonably ascribed as the multivariate functions of descriptors using a linear regression model.
