Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In 2018, highly coherent supercontinuum (SC) spectra spanning from 1340 to 2840 nm, 1280 to 3310 nm and 1200 to 3300 mm were experimentally generated in step-index, tapered, and all-solid tellurite fibers. In addition, SC spectrum from 0.78 to 13 μm was numerically demonstrated using a two-step SC generation in cascaded tellurite and chalcogenide all-solid fibers with all-normal chromatic dispersion profile. For chalcogenide fibers, mid-infrared cascaded stimulated Raman scattering was obtained in an 16-m-long As-S fiber with 0.08 dB/m fiber loss at 1545 nm. The eighth-order peak can be found at 2698 nm and the induced spectrum can be expanded to 3800 nm. By using a W-type co-axial chalcogenide optical fiber, highly coherent mid-IR SC from 2.28 to 15.52 μm at the -40 dB level was obtained.
