Outline of Annual Research Achievements

In the 2018 fiscal year, following stages of the main plan were accomplished. The synthesis of the composite nanoparticles was continued and boron nanoparticles were successful synthesized. As the stability of the compounds during high-Z element consolidation differed in the experiments, in vivo application was delayed. Animal tumor model using F98 rat glioma cells and Fisher rats was created. Accumulation of nanoparticles in animal tumor models was evaluated, though was below the expected values. The focus of experiments was shifted to drug delivery system including nanoparticle surface modifications and liposomal delivery of boron compounds. The results of the study were presented at several conferences and will be included in scientific publications.
