Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the case of the patient with insufficient remnant liver volume after hepatectomy, postoperative liver failure would occur, that is a fetal complication following hepatectomies. Portal embolization contributes to the increase of the remnant liver volume. Thus, portal embolization combined with Muse cell administration that is endogenous non-tumorigenic pluripotent-like stem cell, might have positive effect on the remnant liver volume and function. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Muse cell administration for mouse portal vein ligation model. We was able to establish the mouse portal vein ligation model safely, and acquired the technique of cell administration via portal vein. We will evaluate the effect of Muse cell administration in the future.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
