Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Uropathogenic E. coli is a major pathogen that causes urinary tract infections, and it exhibits pathogenicity only in the urinary tract but not enteric site and natural environment. In this study, we revealed the mechanism how virulence of Uropathogenic E. coli is induced under iron-limited conditions in urinary tract infection sites. In addition, we also found a novel virulence factor, TolB and also investigated its functions.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
