Outline of Annual Research Achievements

・四光波混合によりファイバ中で励起光からシグナル光とアイドラ光を生じる.励起光の波長によりシグナル光とアイドラ光の発生する波長を制御できる.特に正常分散波長領域にある励起光を入射させるとアイドラ光は中赤外よりも長波長に発生する.また、アイドラ光には、励起光のスペクトルが転写されるため、周波数コムを入射すれば、中赤外からテラヘルツ領域にかけて周波数コムが得られ、精密分光分析に応用が可能になる.広い領域で周波数コムを発生領域 可変で発生させることが可能な技術はこれまではない.そこで波長分散特性を用いてアイドラ光の発生を解析するための非線形シュレディンガー方程式によるシミュレーションを進めた.その結果、連続光およびパルス光、さらには周波数コムを入射したときに発生するアイドラ光を解析できる解析手法を確立し、中赤外域にアイドラ光を発生させるための最適ファイバ構造の検討を進めた.
・2μm帯に零分散波長をもつカルコゲナイドフォトニック結晶ファイバを作製して、その波長分散を考慮し、開発した非線形シュレディンガー方程式による四光波混合によるアイドラ光の発生解析を行った.その結果、2μm帯の励起により4μmを超える波長域にアイドラ光が発生できることを明らかにした.実際、カルコゲナイドフォトニック結晶ファイバを用いて実験的検証を行った結果、4.2μmにアイドラ光が発生することを実証した.光ファイバを用いて4μmを超える波長域においてアイドラ光を発生した例はこれまでにはなく、初めて得られた結果である.さらに長波長の光を発生させるためのファイバ設計を進めた.
・また、テルライトガラスやカルコゲナイドガラスがテラヘルツ領域の透過特性の評価を進め、それらガラスがテラヘルツ領域で透過域を有することを確認した.透過特性の定量化およびガラス組成依存性を解明していく.

Reason

・正常分散波長領域にある励起光を入射させると広い波長域で四光波混合によりファイバ中で励起光からシグナル光とアイドラ光を生じる.特に、アイドラ光には、励起光のスペクトルが転写されるため、周波数コムを入射すれば、中赤外からテラヘルツ領域にかけて周波数コムが得られ、精密分光分析に応用が可能になる.広い領域で周波数コムを発生領域可変で発生させることが可能な技術はこれまではなかったが、波長分散特性を用いてアイドラ光の発生を解析するための非線形シュレディンガー方程式によるシミュレーション手法の開発手法を確立し、研究を進めた.
・2μm帯に零分散波長をもつカルコゲナイドフォトニック結晶ファイバを作製して、その波長分散を考慮し、開発した非線形シュレディンガー方程式による四光波混合によるアイドラー光の発生解析を行い、2μm帯の励起により4μmを超える波長域にアイドラ光が発生できることを明らかにした.実際、カルコゲナイドフォトニック結晶ファイバを用いて実験的検証を行った結果、4.2μmにアイドラ光が発生することを実証し、開発した解析手法の妥当性を検証した.さらに光ファイバを用いて4μmを超える波長域においてアイドラ光を発生した例はこれまでにはなく、初めての結果を得た.
・テルライトガラスやカルコゲナイドガラスがテラヘルツ領域の透過特性の評価を進めた.透過域を有することを確認することができた.今後のテラヘルツ光の発生特性の解析に途がつけられたと考えている.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

これまでのファイバ構造とアイドラ光発生のための波長分散特性の相関に関する解析結果を基に、アイドラ光発生による中赤外からテラヘルツ領域でのコヒーレント光の発生を検証する.そのために必要な下記の項目の研究を推進する.(1)アイドラ光発生のための波長分散特性を実現するために必要なハイブリッドPCFを実現する.(2)1から2μmの近赤外光パルスを入射させ、中赤外からテラヘルツ領域でのコヒーレント光発生を実現する.(1)の研究では、ハイブリッドPCFのコア・クラッド素材として、カルコゲナイド・テルライトガラス(Ge-Ga-Sb-S・TeO2-ZnO-Bi2O3-Li2O)、カルコゲナイド・カルコゲナイドガラス(AsSe・AsS)、テルライト・フォスフォテルライトガラス(TeO2-La2O3-WO3-MoO3-Na2O・TeO2-ZnO-Na2O-P2O5)、テルライト・フォスフェイトガラス(TeO2-Bi2O3-Na2O-ZnO・P2O5-ZnO-Na2O-K2O)等の組み合わせが考えられる.それらガラスの組み合わせで0.2以上の屈折率差が実現でき、ハイブリッドPCFの素材として使用できる。組成による屈折率分散の変化を測定しつつ、最適組成を見極め、アイドラ光発生のための波長分散特性を実現するために必要なハイブリッドPCFを実現する.(2)の研究では、1から2μmの波長域でフェムト秒からピコ・ナノ秒域の光パルスを発生させる光ファイバレーザを組み立てており、それらを光源として中赤外からテラヘルツ領域でのコヒーレント光発生を検証する.発生波長とファイバ構造との相関を検証し、テラヘルツ領域でのアイドラ光の発生を目指す.
