Outline of Annual Research Achievements

・これまでに、2μm帯に零分散波長をもつカルコゲナイドフォトニック結晶ファイバを作製して、その波長分散を考慮し、非線形シュレディンガー方程式による四光波混合によるアイドラ光の発生解析を行った.その結果、2μm帯の励起により4μmを超える波長域にアイドラ光が発生できることを明らかにし、実際にカルコゲナイドフォトニック結晶ファイバを用いて実験的検証を行った結果、4.5μmにアイドラ光が発生することを実証した.光ファイバを用いて4μmを超える波長域においてアイドラ光を発生した例はこれまでにはなく、初めて得られた結果である.
・前年度成果を踏まえ、テルライトフォトニック結晶ファイバを用いた波長変換実験を行った.その結果、2μm帯の励起により4.1μmの波長域にアイドラ光が発生することを確認した.テルライトフォトニック結晶ファイバを用いて4μmを超える波長域にアイドラ光が発生できることを示したのは初めてである.
・これまでの成果を踏まえ、信号光とアイドラ光との周波数差を大きく取れる波長分散特性を持つファイバの作製して探索を行った.ファイバの対象は,微細構造光ファイバ以外にも広げた.TeO2-Bi2O3-ZnO-Na2O (TBZN) 系ガラスを用い作製したテルライトステップインデックス型光ファイバを用いて波長変換の実験を行った. 発振波長が1545nmのナノ秒レーザ光を励起光源として用いた.このとき、775nmに信号光と考えられる光が発生した.その発生効率は、1.12%という高い値を示した。励起光波長と信号光波長との差分からアイドラ光の発生する周波数は0.025THzと見積もられた.当研究室には、そのTHz光を検出する装置がないため、直接的な確認はできなかったが、本実験結果は光ファイバによるTHz光発生を十分示唆するものであり、本研究課題の目的を十分達成した結果が得られたと判断している。
