Research Abstract

局在電磁波による高スループット信号伝送を利用することにより単一磁束量子論理回路(SFQ回路)の性能を飛躍的に向上させることができる。この新技術は、SFQ回路の設計の柔軟性を増し、従来の配線に制限された集積回路設計法から配線の高速性や高スループット性を積極的に利用した設計法へと回路アーキテクチャの面でも新たなパラダイムシフトをもたらす。本特定研究領域は、将来のサブテラヘルツ集積回路分野の確立に向け、この新しい局在電磁波配線技術を前面に据えた単一磁束量子集積回路の研究を、デバイス技術、設計技術から応用まで総合的に推進するものである。具体的には、SFQ局在電磁波集積回路の動作スピードと集積密度を高めるための基盤となるプロセス技術、ならびに局在電磁波導波路を利用した設計技術を確立し、それらの高速信号処理回路応用への展開を図る。
本領域では、2つの研究班を設けた。また、相互の研究協力や研究ターゲットの調整を行うために総括班を置いた。総括班は執行部としてプロジェクト全体の研究方針の決定、各研究グループの監督と調整、他プロジェクトの研究者も含めた研究成果の評価を行った。また、班員の情報交換、成果発表のための会議を企画して研究成果を取りまとめた。
総括班の活動として、本年度は1回の設計Meetingを行った。これにより、局在電磁波集積回路の標準セルライブラリを構築し、設計資産の共有化と高度化を行った。更に超電導工学研究所の超伝導集積回路プロセスを用いた回路評価を通してプロセスの改善に貢献した。領域の成果を内外にアピールするために、2度の国際ワークショップ(SSV2009, SSV2010)を実施した。また、研究成果報告書を取りまとめた。
