Research Abstract

本研究は、NaV_2O_5における新奇な電荷秩序転移と悪魔の花相図の発見、ベータバナジウムブロンズにおける金属絶縁体転移と圧力誘起超伝導の発見、ZnV_2O_4における軌道秩序誘起構造相転移と反強磁性転移の発見、MgTi_2O_4における軌道秩序誘起金属絶縁体転移の発見、などの実績や背景をもとに提案されたもので、バナジウム酸化物に特有の多重基底状態競合がもたらす新奇量子物性(電荷秩序とスピン・ギャップ形成を伴う相転移、悪魔の階段状電荷整列転移、電荷秩序転移と超伝導、軌道秩序誘起(スピン・)パイエルス転移、量子スピン現象など)の探究を温度と圧力を可変パラメタとして徹底的に行うものである。また、新物性は新物質開発と不可分であり、アルカリ金属をカウンターイオンとする新規3元(4元)酸化バナジウムおよび周辺物質(TiやCrの酸化物)の開発を行う。これら系統的研究から、t_2g電子が示す電子相関効果についての理解を深める。
