Research Abstract

(1) 本研究では、ミリ波からテラヘルツ波領域において、発振、増幅、周波数変換、論理処理等の超ブロードバンド信号処理機能を可能とする集積型の回路・システムの実現を目的として、低次元プラズモンの分散制御を利用した新規電磁波伝搬モード型回路を創出するものである。特に、分散特性の異なる複数の低次元プラズモンモードを電磁波と選択的に結合させるというアイデアを機能実現の方法論として導入する。
(2) 全5ヵ年の研究計画は、1) 低次元プラズモンの局在性と分散特性の関係解明とモデル化、2) プラズモン分散制御機構の実験的検証とモデル化、3) プラズモン分散制御による電磁波伝搬モード型回路機能の検証、4) 各種要素回路の構造検討・試作評価、5 )新概念回路設計論の体系化、を主要課題として構成されている。これらの5つの研究計画を適材適所と有機的な相互連携によって推進する。デバイス試作は東北大電気通信研究所ナノ・スピン実験施設等で行う。
