Research Abstract

本研究では、電気刺激とボツリヌストキシン(BOT)投与をneuromodulation治療と位置づけ、この組合せ治療によって、相補的・相乗的治療効果が得られるかどうかを明らかにすることを目的とする。
治療標的は慢性期の脳卒中や脊髄損傷を中心とした神経系疾患による、重度の麻痺上肢、重度の麻痺下肢、四肢の神経性疼痛と異常感覚、難治性の過活動性膀胱と泌尿器系臓器疾患とし、それぞれに対する上記治療によって、痙縮抑制と上下肢運動機能の改善、疼痛やしびれ感の緩和、膀胱機能の回復による症状の改善等を明らかにする。さらに電気刺激あるいはBOTの単独治療と、併用治療との比較を行い、治療適応を明確にする。また治療前後に運動学的解析、脳・脊髄を含めた神経生理学的解析および機能画像学的解析、尿水力学的解析を行い、治療効果発現の背景機構を解明する。
