Research Abstract

2009年度は本研究課題の最終年度であり、研究開発と並行して、研究成果の発信にも時間を割いた。
《立体模型の研究開発》今年度新規に開発した立体模型を挙げる。数学曲面として、リングトーラス、ホーントーラス、スピンドルトーラス、水平円の鉛直円運動の軌跡(オリジナル数学曲面)およびそれらの分割模型。木製(板材の貼り合せ)の準正多面体16種類。地球儀の陸と海を区別しやすくし、エベレスト山やマリアナ海溝を局所的に切り出した部分拡大模型の作成。結晶学の対称性を理解する為の2次元教材。切頂8面体、菱形12面体の集合による空間充填結晶構造。また、これらの立体模型に対する認識実験を全盲の高校生を被験者としておこなった。
《立体の2次元表現に関する研究開発》3次元形状を2次元上に表現する方法(投影図)は各種あるが、視覚障害者がそれらを理解する上での困難が指摘されている為、2次元表現の活用可能性を研究した。視覚障害者が自分で各種投影図を生成できるソフトを開発した。2次元表現(各種投影図および展開図)を視覚障害者が理解する上で難易の差を解析した。全盲の高校生を被験者としてこれらを解明する為の認識実験をおこなった。
《研究成果の発信》・2008年度におこなった海外視察の報告を月刊誌「視覚障害-その研究と情報-」に公表した。4月号～8月号に連載された。・米国の団体AHEADが主催する会議においてポスターセッションの1っを主催し、研究成果を世界の研究者・教育者に発信した。9件のポスター発表と合わせて模型の展示をおこない、多くの聴衆と直接の意見交換を密に行なうことが出来た。・本研究課題の4年間の成果を国際的に発表する場として、国際会議ICCHPを選定し、査読付論文として5編が採択された。2010年7月にウィーンにて発表を行なう。
