Research Abstract

本研究では、クラスタの内部空間に閉じ込められた原子の特異なフォノンがe-ph相互作用により、電子相転移ならびに超伝導に関与する可能性を探求し、新しい物性科学への道を拓くことを目的とする。物性研究の中で興味ある現象として、電子とフォノンの相互作用(e-ph相互作用)が関係した多くの現象がある。この相互作用は、金属-絶縁体転移や超伝導などを発現させる重要な相互作用として知られている。従来この現象に関係するフォノンとしては、結晶の格子振動に関係する格子フォノンがその主な研究対象とされてきた。しかし、最近の研究で多面体クラスタを基本構造とする結晶では、結晶全体に関係する格子フォノンではなくクラスタ内に閉じ込められた原子運動と関係する非調和フォノンが重要な働きをする可能性が指摘され、近年ラットリングフォノンという名称で認識されている。本研究は、正12面体を基本とする多面体クラスタから構築される結晶を用いてラットリングフォノンが関与するe-ph相互作用と電子相転移および超伝導転移との関係を探求する事を研究する。
