カーボンナノチューブにおける高温超伝導の研究

Research Abstract

最終年度にあたって、ホウ素ドープ単層カーボンナノチューブ(CNT)の結晶性改善と超伝導転移温度(T_c)の向上に注力した。結晶性は、CNT成長温度の最適化、触媒へのホウ素の含有の方法の最適化、の二点から行った。また、T_c改善は、(1)ホウ素濃度の低減、(2)直径が1nm以下の細い単層ナノチューブの生成と使用、(3)薄膜試料への高圧印加、の三点から行った。
その結果、結晶性は、温度の最適化で向上したことが共鳴ラマン散乱の測定で確認できた。T_c向上は(3)のみで実現できた。(1)では触媒中のホウ素濃度を1原子%以下に低減すると単層ナノチューブ中にホウ素がドープされない場合が発生し、マイスナー効果自体が消えてしまった。その観点で微量ナホウ素のドープ方法の改善が必要である。(2)では直径0.6nm付近の試料ではアモルファス構造が激増し、質の高い単層ナノチューブが採れなかった。これもチューブ生成方法の最適化が必要である。(3)では、成長時に自然形成される単層ナノチューブロープ(集合体)が薄膜中に多いと、その薄膜に圧力を印加してもT_cがほとんど変化しないことをまず確認した。そこで、超音波洗浄を長時間、強力に行いそのロープを徹底的に分散し個々の単層ナノチューブにした。それらの単層ナノチューブを基板上に塗布して集積化し薄膜にした構造では、7Kから19KまでT_cが上がることを発見した。圧力を印加した共鳴ラマン散乱測定でこの薄膜の単層ナノチューブのフォノン振動数が圧力印加で上昇することを発見し、これがTc上昇の原因であることを究明した。今後の再現性向上やT_c,改善においてこれらは極めて重要な発見である。
