Research Abstract

有機ホウ素の特性、すなわち高い反応性やルイス酸性を高分子設計に活かして、ホウ素原子を主鎖に組み込んだ新しい共役電子系の高分子を合成することに成功した。具体的には、ジエチニルベンゼンなどの芳香族ジイン類とモノアルキルボランとのヒドロボレーション重合を行うことにより、主鎖部分にフェニレンやアルケニレンなどのπ共役系とともにホウ素原子が導入された高分子を得ることができた。このような高分子はホウ素原子の空軌道がπ共役系に関与した構造となっており、これまでの共役系高分子とは異なった新しい非局在電子系の高分子として、興味深い特性を示した。例えば、強い蛍光発光や優れた三次非線形光学特性を示すことが明らかになった。
