Research Abstract

地球規模での温暖化による負の影響が作物生産にも顕在化しつつある。温帯果樹で開花時期の遅延や生育不良の多発などである。これらは永年性作物の特徴である明確な生活環(生育期と休眠期)が不安定な状態であることに起因する。そこで芽の休眠現象の分子メカニズムを解明するため、細胞内酸化還元状態(レドックス)の変化とシアン耐性呼吸未端酸化酵素(AOX)、水の膜透過を制御する水チャネルなどの休眠期における遺伝子発現と機能解析、さらには休眠芽の水の動態をMRI 画像解析と電子顕微鏡による微細構造の比較観察により精査しようとする。加えて、休眠打破効果が認められているシアナミド処理をした休眠芽における上記パラメータの変化についても検討する。
以上、果樹の安定的な生活環を維持するため、休眠生理機構の解明を生理生化学・分子生物学・形態及び生態学的アプローチで総合的に行うものである。
