| Research Abstract |
世界有数の規模を持つ南米パタゴニア氷原を対象として、氷河変動のメカニズムを解明し、地形調査と年代測定試料により北パタゴニア氷原周辺の完新世の古環境を復元する。
具体的な目的は次の5 項目である。(1)北パタゴニア氷原の最北に位置するリオ・エクスプロラドーレス、リオ・ノルテからトランキーロ湖を経てプエルト・リオ・トランキーロに至る東西に横断する谷の古環境、特に完新世の環境の復元を、かつてこの谷に流れ込んでいたエクスプロラドーレス氷河とグロッセ氷河の変動との関連で試みる。(2)北パタゴニア氷原バケール川流域およびラゴ・ヘネラルカレーラおよびラゴ・コクラン周辺の完新世の環境変動の解明と氷河変動との関係。(3)南パタゴニア氷原の東側に位置するペリート・モレーノ氷河の動態解析と短期の前進・後退の繰り返しのメカニズムの解明。(4)南北パタゴニア氷原の近年の氷河変動のモニターの継続。(5)海底堆積物コアから見たパタゴニア氷原変動の解明。
