| Research Abstract |
本研究では、海洋微生物の生態を解析するための新しい手法を開発し、これらを駆使して、海洋における炭酸ガスやジメチルサルファイド(DMS)といった気候関連ガスの動態に強い影響を及ぼす微生物鍵種を特定した。さらに、独自技術に次世代超並列シーケンスを組み合わせた解析では、従来法では不可能であった希少種も含めた増殖群の特定に成功し、微生物多様性と生態系の安定性を議論する上での重要な知見を得ることが出来た。
