Research Abstract

放射線による生物影響の主要な要因のひとつとされる難修復性のDNA多重損傷(クラスターDNA損傷)は、空間電離密度の指標であるLETが100keV/μm以上のイオンビーム照射時に顕著に生じること、さらに大型シンクロトロン放射施設から得られる高いエネルギー分解能の軟X線を用いてDNA分子中の特定元素の内殻電離効果を調べた結果、酸素のK殻励起エネルギーを超えると塩基損傷頻度が増加することを突き止めた。
