Research Abstract

多様な野生高等動物を対象に、残留性有機ハロゲン化合物(PCBs、PBDEs、HBCDs)による汚染実態や蓄積特性を調査した結果、猛禽類など陸棲の高等動物において臭素系難燃剤(PBDEs、HBCDs)の汚染レベルの高いことが明らかとなった。また各有機ハロゲン化合物の異性体や水酸化PCBs(OH-PCBs)の残留プロファイルを解析した結果、これら物質の代謝挙動は物質種や異性体、動物種間で大きく異なることが示唆された。酵母CYP1Aタンパク質発現系を用いた薬物代謝試験では、カワウやアザラシなどの化学物質代謝能がニワトリやヒトとは明らかに異なることが示された。レポーター遺伝子アッセイを用いた試験では、一部のOH-PCBs等が甲状腺ホルモンの阻害作用を示すことが判明した。よって、これら有機ハロゲン化合物の毒性リスクを評価する際には、親化合物の代謝活性化や代謝能の動物種間差などを考慮する必要がある。
