Research Abstract

銀に光カー媒質の硫化カドミウムをコートした数10nm サイズの微粒子を作製し、微粒子1個の散乱光強度が入射光強度に依存して変化する非線形光学応答の実験観測に成功した。この構造に対する計算機シミュレーション手法を開発し、実験結果と比較することで非線形光学現象の起源を明らかにした。この研究結果から、光情報処理システムの小型化・省エネルギー化に必要とされるナノサイズ光変調デバイスが実現可能であることが示された。
