Research Abstract |
Open service space is the space where unspecified users meet and part to receive some services according to their purposes and needs. The objective of this research is to clarify the characteristic to manage the open service space including facilities, machinery and environment. The result of this study is summarized as follows. Doctor Okada proposed the method to select the countermeasure on safety and quality to improve the open service space using the mathematical model and multivariate analysis. The proposed method was applied to some spaces and the utility was investigated. Moreover, the methods to evaluate the comfort of users and to represent the satisfaction rating of diverse users were considered. In addition, the supporting system of human error management with the computer network was developed and its effectiveness was discussed. Doctor Kurita expanded the application area of existing Operations Research models to a variety of open service spaces and verified their validity and limit. Based on these verifications, the improved new models were considered. Doctor Sakurai and Doctor Shinozawa developed formal description methods that take the user's needs for information retrieval into consideration in the open service space. Doctor Inada applied the technique of Industrial Engineering to the open service space. Especially, the analysis method to identify the problem such as inefficiency and waste in the open service space, where unspecified users are severed materials and/or information, was proposed. In addition, the fundamental guide to improve convenience of space users was discussed in this analysis framework.
