Research Abstract |
56 nationalities in the People's Republic of China have been subjected to enormous changes in their life style, after China adopted a Reform Openness Policy about 30 years ago. Mongolian and Korean nationalities have developed their ethnic cultures while maintaining good relationship with Han nationality on the whole. Although assimilation among ethnic minorities to Han, the largest nationality in China, is ongoing, language maintenance efforts of various kinds among Mongolian and Korean ethnic groups are being made intently.
