Research Abstract

強磁性形状記憶合金の動作の元となる構造相転移の発現機構において中心的な役割を果たしていることが期待される電子状態の変化を、実験的に解明することを目的に、バルク敏感光電子分光および内殻磁気円二色性などの電子分光実験を行った結果、Ni-Mn-Fe-Ga系形状記憶合金物質において1次構造相転移前後で電子状態および磁気状態に有意な変化が有り、特にNiの電子状態が特徴的に変化していることが明らかになった。これはこの系の構造相転移のメカニズムについての重要な特徴をあらわしていると考えられ、バンド計算などによる電子状態の理論的解明とも組み合わせることで、強磁性形状記憶合金の設計に指針を与えるものである。
