Research Abstract |
In order to develop the high performance mechanical tests method of rock materials by means of X-ray CT, mainly following research topics have been studied. In the topic of development of visualization and quantification method of liquid-solid two phase flow in rock pore, the wide range and technical of problems related the liquid-solid two phase flow have been solved through a series of permeation tests of high density calcium carbonate solution into the porous stone. In the topic of visualization and evaluation of displacement field of the shear fracture surfaces, the location of the shear surfaces is specified by the special characteristics of relatively large grain in the sample, then the quantitative relation between shear deformation and dilatancy have been investigated. In the topic of the high accuracy measurement of crack geometry by crack projection method, geometry of crack tip shape developed in the materials have been measured by applying crack projection method, and the analyses based on the fracture mechanics have been conducted. In the topic of the measurement of permeation velocity by tracer-aided permeation method, the stability and repeatability of the tests have been confirmed by applying X-ray CT tracer-aided permeation tests to the porous sand stone. In the topic of the high accuracy analysis of grain structure by the characteristic of CT value distribution, the theory of the method have been confirmed by applying the structural analysis method of the grain utilizing the movement of spherical fry ash in the ample. These results of the present study were also applied to various model experiments in laboratory, presenting significant information and minute huge data of indispensable to the researches in geo-science and technology.
