Research Abstract

脊椎動物の初期発生過程において出現する体節中胚葉の分節化は、体節以外の組織、たとえば神経系や血管系などの分節パターンをも規定する. 本研究では、分節パターンに沿って出現する血管前駆細胞に注目し、これらの細胞による血管形成の過程と、それを制御する分子メカニズムの解析を行った.血管前駆細胞は各体節の後半部に出現し、その後腹側方向に移動して背側大動脈の内皮組織を形成する. これらの細胞挙動は、主にNotchとその下流で働くエフリンによって制御されていることが明らかとなった.
