Research Abstract

受精は, 生物が種を保存する上で不可欠なプロセスである。受精を成立させるためには、精子は糖タンパク質性の卵保護層(卵黄膜)に精子通過口を開ける必要があり、この溶解物質はライシンと呼ばれている。新口動物におけるライシンは精子プロテアーゼであると考えられているが, その詳細は不明である。我々は、ホヤにおいて、精子の新規ユビキチンープロテアソーム系がライシンとして細胞外で機能することを見いだした。今回は、カタユウレイボヤを用いて、そのユビキチン化酵素の探索を行い、精子/精巣で特異的に発現する本酵素を同定することに成功した。
