| Research Abstract |
水俣病の公式発見から50年以上が経過した今になってもメチル水銀の毒性発現機構はほとんど不明のままである。特に, 大脳において脳溝周囲に障害が限局する機構と, 小脳において顆粒細胞が特異的に傷害される機構がよく分かっていない。プロテオグリカンは細胞外マトリックスの構成成分として細胞増殖因子等による細胞の機能調節に重要に関与している複合糖質である。本研究では, 脳微小血管構成細胞のプロテオグリカン代謝とそれが関与する生体システムがメチル水銀の毒性発現機構に寄与することを明らかにする。
