Research Abstract	イタリアと日本では、1990年代のほぼ同時期に、きわめて類似した政党政治の再編がなされ、その後にさまざまな経済構造改革が行われた。しかし90年代から今日まで、イタリアと日本の政治的帰結は対極的なものとなった。すなわち、イタリアではリズミカルな政権交代が行われたが、日本では政権交代は困難であった。それでは90年代に、なぜ両国は似通った政治改革を行ったのだろうか。また、その後に実施された新自由主義的経済構造改革は、イタリアと日本では同じ意味をもっていたのだろうか。どのようなアクターが、いかなる文脈においてそれらの改革を提案し、誰がそれを、どこまで実施したのだろうか。さらには、今日のイタリアと日本の政治経済は、90年代から2000年代にかけてのさまざまな改革をどのように反映しているのだろうか。本研究は、ミラノ大学、ボッコー二大学、京都大学、早稲田大学の研究者による国際共同研究プロジェクトである。拒否権プレイヤーの数とイデオロギー距離、政策決定におけるEUの影響、不人気政策と避難回避、経路依存的政策決定、地方分権化など、多様な枠組みの視点から、政党政治、福祉政策、労働市場政策、コーポレイト・ガヴァナンス、財政政策といった政治学と経済学の重要領域に関して、1990年代以降のイタリアと日本における制度・構造改革を比較分析し、その意義と課題を探るとともに、現在の先進諸国の政治経済への幅広いインプリケーションを示す。
