| Research Abstract |
歩行訓練を受けた視覚障害者は既知の場所であれば一人で自由に歩行することが可能である。しかしながら未知の場所では介助者なしで歩行することは困難である。このような状態を解消するため、未知の場所であっても視覚障害者が単独で歩行できるような支援装置の開発を行った。開発した装置は2種類で、GPSにより利用者の位置を把握し道案内を行う屋外での案内装置と、床に色で区別した誘導ラインを設けそれを白杖でトレースする屋内における案内装置である。
