| Research Abstract |
本研究においては、十九世紀イギリスのヴィクトリア朝の美術を、同時代の文化政策の動向、とりわけこの時期に大きく進展した美術館政策との関連という視点から捉えなおすことを目指した。なかでも、ヨーロッパ大陸の諸国とは異なり、イギリスにおいては、政府や王室の代りに民間のイニシアチブによって公共的な美術館の開設・運営が推し進められたことに注目し、このような「公(官)」と「私(民)」の融合ないし協働が図られた背景を探った
