本課題は近世中期に出版された初期草双紙(赤本・黒本・青本)を中心に、
(1) 刊行事情の解明
(2) 初期草双紙の内容分析による近世中期における歴史事象の伝承の解明
(3) 初期草双紙の絵の分析による錦絵の画題との関係性
について研究している。
