| Research Abstract |
本研究は、近代日本語学確立期における研究者小林好日の位置づけを行うことにより、近代日本語学がいかに確立されたのかの一端を明らかにするものである。小林の残した原稿・ノート類及び方言調査資料の整理・分析を進め、学史的位置付けを行った。小林の文法研究は同時代の保科孝一・吉岡郷甫から影響を受けていた。また、日本語史研究が通史研究となるための一端を担う文法史研究を進めた。さらに、方言研究では西洋方言学を十分に消化しそれを日本語方言に適用し、言語変化の理論面に大きな貢献を果した。
