Research Abstract |
The purpose of this research project was to construct normative data of shading responses on Rorschach. The shading responses were collected from 300 nonpatients and calcified into 5 categories : texture, transparency, fine differentiation, vista, and diffusion. Texture responses on cards IV and VI were calcified according to percepts, expressions of contact sensation and explanations of shading properties. Vista and /or diffusion responses were calcified according to percepts, expressions of diffuse and /or vista feelings and explanations of shading properties. Results were : 1) various shading responses were appeared characteristic to cards and locations, 2) expressions of contact sensation and diffuse feelings were less frequent, though percepts and explanations of shading properties were appropriate. Results suggested : 1) texture responses reflect emotional maturity, but expressions of contact sensation would not always reflect that. 2) nonpatients would not be overwhelmed by anxious or depressed feelings. Future research is needed to compare nonpatients with clinical groups.
