| Research Abstract |
戦前期の女子ミッション・スクールは、地域移動を含めた女性の社会移動を促進し、英語教員、医師、音楽家などの専門職への道を開き、官公庁、一般企業での就職をも促進し、大都市と不可分な関係を作り出した。また、女子ミッション・スクールは西洋的な教養を主とする教育により、都市の特定の集団との結びつきを強め、その集団の学校への帰属意識を高めたことによって、結果として学校を介在させた階層の再生産に寄与したと推測される。
