Research Abstract |
The purpose of the present study is to give light on the scholastic ability in the Japanese language constituting the basis of all other disciplines. The present study takes the following three steps : 1. to collect the basic plan of curriculum established n various places all over Japan during the pioneer days of the new education right after the end of the Second World War(1947-1955) ; 2. to draw up a list of these basic plans by prefecture ; and 3.to classify them into three categories, i.e. : independent-disciplines-oriented, core-curriculum-focused and a fusion of the two. These steps lead to find out that the core-curriculum-focused and problem-solving-oriented plan of educational guidance fermented the concepts of intellectual capacity, intellectual operation capacity and learning capacity . Developing these concepts, the present study concludes that capacities for inspiration, prediction, hypothesis building, conception, comparison, classification, categorization, analysis and construction constitute the scholastic ability in the Japanese language constituting the basis of all other disciplines. It thus emphasizes the necessity of education related to these capacities.
