| Research Abstract |
赤道太平洋海域において,エルニーニョ,ラニーニャ現象に伴って変動する水温躍層変動と海洋一次生産者である円石藻の群集特性について解析を行った.その結果,西太平洋暖水塊域(WPWP)と赤道太平洋湧昇域(EUR)で,有光層下部の円石藻種群の増減と水温躍層深度との間に強い相関があることが判明した.有光層中・上部の群集では,Umbellosphaera irregularis がWPWP を,Oolithotus fragilis がEUR を特徴づけることが判明した.また,WPWP で有光層中部に生息しているO. fragilis は,EUR では栄養塩の供給がおよぶ有光層上部にまで,その生息深度を広げ,生産量も高くなることが判明した.
