Research Abstract

現在の宇宙の密度の70%を占めて宇宙の加速膨張を引き起こす未知の暗黒エネルギー起源を超弦理論などの高次元に由来する素粒子理論に求める研究を続けている。
平成19年度はアインシュタインの重力理論を拡張した理論に基づき、加速膨張と宇宙初期にあったと信じられているインフレーションを統一的に理解する模型の構築を行った。
そのような模型の一つはアインシュタインの重力理論への弦理論からの補正としてガウス=ボンネ項やさらに高次の補正項を作用に付けくわえた模型である。このような模型で、宇宙膨張の時間発展がどのようなものでも再現するような模型が作れることを示した。
また、アイシシュタインの重力理論の作用をスカラー曲率の適当な関数で置き換えたような模型を構築し、これらの模型を詳しく調べることによって、様々な実験や観測と矛盾しない模型が構築できることを示した。
