Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to develop a self-directed and homeostatic system for supplying community facility space based on utilizing public building stock accumulated after the World War II in Japan. To this end,the following three projects were conducted. 1. Development project of a matrix between function of meeting space and capacity of space by systematic rearrangement of function of meeting space The project reorganized the classification offunction of meeting space in community facilities based on a detailed survey on the usage of them including a questionnaire survey on the users. The capacity of space which is necessary for each of the new types was clarified and a matrix between the types of function of spaces and the capacity of spaces were developed. 2. Development project on calculation method of potential for usability of public buildings The project developed a method to determine the allocatable・meeting function to each public building by combining the matrix developed in the project mentioned above and the database on characteristics of existing pubicbuildings. Based on the method,a method to calculate the potential for usability of public buildings was established. 3. Development project on calculation method of locational potential of public buildings The accessibility to public buildings was calculated using street network data and topographical data based on geographical information systems (GIS). The calculation method was developed by refining a method proposed by a preceding study based on the metabolism while walking up or down on a slope. By combining the accessibility and thedistribution of population of each district and by consideration on the characteristics of movement obtained by the survey, the population accessible to each public building was obtained, which indicates the loational potential of the building.
