| Research Abstract |
植物の被食防衛戦略を分類し、評価した。植食者の発生確率と被食強度が予測可能なときは、あらかじめ防御方法を準備しておく恒常型が有利となり、それらの予測制が低いときは食われてから防御を始めるという誘導型が有利となる。化学物質を生産したり、物理的形状を変化させたりという直接防御を用いるか、植食者の天敵を利用して防御する間接防御を用いるかは、それぞれの戦略のコストとベネフィットに依存することが分かった。
