Research Abstract

三倍体生物種が稀に高い有性繁殖能力を発現する機構はよくわかっていない. オニユリとその近縁種コオニユリ(いずれもユリ科ユリ属)では, オニユリゲノム2組, コオニユリゲノム1組を有する三倍体オニユリが発生し易く, 三倍体オニユリの成熟種子の生産は, 花粉親の遺伝子型に大きく影響された. 自然条件下での三倍体オニユリの発生と遺伝的分化は, 二倍性のオニユリ配偶子と高い交雑親和性を有する一倍性のコオニユリ配偶子によって促進されていると考えられる. こうした性質を有する一倍性配偶子は, ユリ属植物における三倍体レベルでの交雑育種を可能にすると考えられる.
