| Research Abstract |
好気性のアミノ酸生産菌コリネバクテリウム・グルタミクムは嫌気条件でも硝酸呼吸により生育できることを見出し、硝酸呼吸に関わる遺伝子群を同定した。この硝酸呼吸を作動させることで嫌気条件でもアミノ酸の微量生成を認め、アミノ酸の嫌気発酵の可能性を示した。一方、野生株から酸素の要求量が高まった高濃度酸素要求株を変異誘導し、その形質の相補能により、酸素利用に関わる遺伝子を6種同定した。これらの遺伝子の中には遺伝子増幅によって静置培養での生育速度が若干ながら改善するものが見られた。
