| Research Abstract |
ホタテガイの生産を支える食物は、生理生態特性が大きく異なる微細藻類(付着珪藻と植物プランクトン)の両者であり、ホタテガイの食物供給における二大経路を形成していることを見出した。とくに貝表面の付着珪藻は、多様な種類が、安定的に生産されているメカニズムがあり、季節変動が大きい植物プランクトンより重要な役割を担っていることが示唆された。ホタテガイ漁場の生産力評価に関して新しい考え方の提示ができた。
