Research Abstract

本研究では全脳および特定の局所脳容積・拡散テンソル指標の加齢性変化、脳容積変化と拡散テンソル指標の加齢変化の違い、脳容積変化と拡散テンソル指標の加齢変化の男女の違いを明らかにした。脳内局所による違いはあるものの、加齢に伴い脳は萎縮し、MDは上昇、FA が低下することは確実である。ただしこれまでの研究では男女別の群間比較や、多数の被験者における年齢に対する相関解析であり、個々の症例についてその脳容積・拡散テンソル指標が生理的加齢変化の範囲内なのか、生理的加齢変化を逸脱し、病的な萎縮・拡散テンソル変化なのかという情報を付与しにくい。そこでさらに脳容積・拡散テンソル指標を男女別・左右別に階層化し、正常データベースを構築した。その結果、加齢に従い脳容積は減少し、MD は上昇、FA は低下することが観測され、voxel-base 法と正常データベースの結果は良く一致していた。
