気液相複合プラズマプロセスによるナノシリコン・ナノカーボン混成新奇発光場の創成

Research Abstract

新奇発光場として期待されるシリコンコロイド内包カーボンナノチューブの創製を目的として,本年度は,溶液中アーク放電マイクロプラズマを用いてシリコンコロイド(ナノ粒子)の形成実験を中心とした研究を行った.
1.純水中においてポリシリコンを放電電極としてアーク放電を行うことによって,電極上に青緑色の蛍光(蛍光波長:480nm)を示す堆積物が観測され,透過型電子顕微鏡による観察結果から,結晶性を有する直径2nm程度のシリコンナノ粒子が形成されていることが明らかとなった.
2.シリコンナノ粒子の粒径制御を目的として電極材料に着目し,カソード電極に銅(アノード電極はポリシリコン)を用いてアーク放電を行った結果,電極上堆積物及び純水中に分散した試料から緑色蛍光(蛍光波長:500nm)が観測され,直径3〜4nmのシリコンナノ粒子が形成されていることが分かった.
3.シリコンナノ粒子に対する酸化の影響を排除するため,溶液として液体アルゴンを用いてアーク放電を行った結果,電極上堆積物から青色蛍光(蛍光波長:420〜440nm)が観測され,この青色蛍光を示すシリコンナノ粒子の粒径が約1〜1.5nmであることが明らかとなった.
4.以上の結果から,溶液中アーク放電プラズマを利用することで,形成直後に青緑〜緑色蛍光を示すシリコンナノ粒子を形成することに初めて成功し,さらに電極材料の組み合わせ及び溶液の種類を変化させることによって,シリコンナノ粒子の粒径制御の可能性を見出した.
