| Research Abstract |
ギニア共和国南東部の森林地域では、焼畑耕作を主生業とする農耕民が、精霊の森や他の儀礼の森を村落周辺に維持することで、独自の農村景観を形成している。これらの森林の構成や機能について、植民地期以降の変化を利用可能な実証的資料に基づき明らかにした。実証資料のない時代に関する口承知識も重ね合わせ、豊かな在来知識と積極的な維持改変への関与の痕跡など、村落周辺林の形成や維持に関する住民の深い関わりを見いだすことができた。
