Research Abstract

高効率メタン発酵プロセスを実現するには、発酵槽内のメタン生成菌を高濃度に保持することが必要不可欠である。本研究では、メタン発酵槽に棲息する代表的な嫌気性微生物を選定し、コロイド科学の観点から検討を行った。その結果、メタン発酵の中核を担う酢酸利用性メタン生成菌を固定化担体上に高密度に固定化するには、メタン菌叢に含まれる他の嫌気性菌の付着が抑制できる担体が適していることを、微生物の付着による自由エネルギー変化より明らかにした。
